An extremely early collection of extracts from the sermons of Charles Spurgeon, this is a presumed second edition (1859) of the work by Sheldon & Company — the first edition being by the same firm’s predecessor (Sheldon, Blakeman, & Co.) about a year earlier.
There are only a couple of Spurgeon book printings—outside of full sermon editions—that were printed by 1860; this is one of them. A fairly rare edition to own.

CONDITION
Book is in Good + condition (what I would consider great for an 1850’s edition). Binding cloth has torn somewhat at the top of spine, and frayed at bottom, but otherwise in nice condition. Writing and book plate on front endpaper, but other than that very clean and clear pages. A great early American Spurgeon printing.
